Letter From Pastor Philemon

 January 15th, 2021

Dear Presence Family,

I pray you are well and are enjoying some quality time with the Lord during this season of fasting.
For many months now we as a church have worked together to minimize the spread of Covid-19. These efforts have been largely successful because we have relied on each other and remained transparent throughout the process. Above all, we are thankful for God’s enduring protection.
Last week we did not have an in-person service due to Covid-19 safety concerns as cases surged in our community. With this in mind and in the spirit of transparency, I regret to inform you that on Wednesday I tested positive. Presently, my family is doing well, and I am the only one who has experienced symptoms. Your prayers for my family and I are deeply appreciated.

I feel quite fortunate to have only experienced mild symptoms thus far, however, per CDC guidelines I must remain in quarantine until January 22nd.  Accordingly, our service will once again be hosted online this Sunday, January 17th and all Mid-week activities at the Ministry Center for next week have been cancelled. Hopefully, if all goes well by next Sunday, we can resume our in-person church services. We will keep you updated as the situation progresses.
In times like this, it is important to remember that God is in control. I am reminded of these powerful words by the Apostle Paul:

We all experience times of testing, which is normal for every human being. But God will be faithful to you. He will screen and filter the severity, nature, and timing of every test or trial you face so that you can bear it. And each test is an opportunity to trust him more, for along with every trial God has provided for you a way of escape that will bring you out of it victoriously (1 Corinthians 10:13 TPT).
So, let us continue to press in on our prayer and fasting, and confidently proclaim those promises God has made to us for 2021. I encourage you to keep a journal of the things God is revealing to you through scripture and other readings to remember these exceptional times. God is faithful to fulfill his promises.
May the Lord keep you and bless you richly.
In Christ,
Pastor Philemon.
